Lethbridge Sunrise Rotary Club plays an important role in support for Sunrise YPM House.

Sunrise YPM House

Lethbridge Sunrise Rotary Club is helping fund an important project for our community and they are not in it alone!  Sunrise YPM House is a great example of community partnerships.   At the suggestion of City of Lethbridge staff, Young Parkyn McNab (YPM) leased a house to YWCA Lethbridge and District to house youth in its Y Wise Choice Program.  YPM planned on tearing the house down for a parking lot, however, now they'll lease to the YWCA and build the parking on the remainder of the lot.  Lethbridge Sunrise Rotary Club is helping to fund the project and the YWCA's YWise Choice program will turn the house into a home for youth. Young people between 16 -22 who have left foster care or unstable home situations will live in the home with an adult chaperone while learning life skills, completing their education and in general getting ready to live independently.

The project partners were presented with the Innovation Partnership Award in December 2008 at the National Affordable Housing Day luncheon, hosted by Social Housing in Action (SHIA).
