In September 2010 I started work in Lethbridge at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home. While I was waiting for my house in Edmonton to sell and my family to move down, I thought about how I could meet new people and contribute to my new community. A coworker in Edmonton was a Rotarian and I asked him about his experience with Rotary. He talked about the weekly meetings as well as the fund raising and service projects he was involved with.

My interest was piqued, so once my family had moved to Lethbridge I looked up Rotary on the Internet and filled out an online form. After a week or so I received an email from Rita Boltezar who gave me the information to the four clubs in Lethbridge. Having six children in various activities I decided the Sunrise Club would fit my schedule the best. I also heard it was a smaller group, which I liked because it is easier to get to know everybody.

I walked into Streatside Eatery at 7:00 am one Thursday morning and found a small and welcoming group of people. They kept inviting me to the meetings and made me a member in February of 2011. I enjoy the fundraisers that are planned and I am involved in “A Christmas Carol” and “Supper Club”. I look forward to getting involved in other Rotary fundraisers and activities.
