Why I Joined Rotary by Myrna Procinsky-Longair
I was delighted when
my youngest daughter asked me to join the Rotary Organization with her, and
share our perspective experiences.
She joined the University of Victoria Rotaract Club and I the Rotary
Club of Lethbridge Sunrise. I had been encouraging my daughters to become more involved in
community service so this was a welcome surprise.
Service and community involvement are not unfamiliar to me. My father has been a Lions Club member and I was involved with the Quota Club before it folded. Don McInnes was kind enough to take me along to several Sunrise meetings. I immediately appreciated the diverse group of special people in the club. Some familiar, but most not. I readily identified with "Service above Self”, the spirit of giving and the focus of the club (local, national, and international). The social component is a plus!
Thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome at the Rotary Club of Lethbridge Sunrise.
