May 18, 2017 - Sienna Randolph - Neuro Science Research at U of L
Sienna was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She has dual citizenship so after graduating high school she moved to Montreal to study Physiology and Biotechnology at McGill University. Two years later she transferred to the University of Lethbridge and got involved with neuroscience research at the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience. Sienna recently graduated with a BSc in Neuroscience and is now pursuing her Master's degree under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Gruber. Her research investigates common drugs of abuse such as amphetamine and fentanyl, and their effects on decision making. To accomplish this, she works with the exciting combination of rats, genetic engineering, and lasers! In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her cat, skiing, and Rotary! She's been involved with the University of Lethbridge Rotaract club for over 2 years and just completed her term as president. In the next week, she will officially join Urban Spirits as their youngest ever Rotarian.
On Thursday, May 18th Our Interact Club will be revealing its banner around 11 am at Galt Gardens during their "Planned Act of Kindness" event.
Please be there to share in this memorial event!!
Motto
MY CHOICE, MY PATH, MY FUTURE speaks to the approach we take putting each student in the centre of his or her plan. We consult with students as to their needs and goals, then design an educational plan to help ensure their success. Our staff feels like it is a privilege to serve each student and honours the choice students make to be a part of our community.
We believe that our students are unique and capable learners who deserve a spectrum of creative opportunities to achieve success in a safe and caring, respectful, and supportive environment that will provide them with skills for now and in the future.
