Kenneth Kasule, Rotary Club of Maya, Uganda Kenneth Kasule member of the Rotary Club of Maya, Uganda, was visiting Rev. Carolyn Langford in Lethbridge following the International Convention. They met when Carolyn was serving as a volunteer at a university project in rural Uganda in 2006-2009. At that time, Kenneth was working on his Master of Education Administration, but Kenneth’s real passion was helping poor students to stay in school in order to complete their education. Kenneth shared stories of his upbringing in a rural region that suffered from great poverty. Food, clothing, and shelter were challenge enough for many families; school expenses were often not attainable. Consequently, students would be expelled from school for lack of fees, school supplies or uniforms, or miss out on required field trips. Kenneth worked incredibly hard to find sponsors for needy students, and to assist and encourage them. This has led to founding the non-profit Wide Smiles https://www.widesmilesug.org |
