I am a General Contractor and own my own business, Integrity Home Renovations.  I met Barb Kinahan through my work and she invited me to my first Rotary meeting with the Sunrise club.

At that meeting PolioPlus was discussed and it was very interesting to me because I have always enjoyed helping people in need.  I could see that Rotary was about ‘people helping people’.  It is very important to me that we do things to help others with no expectation of return.  I have always liked to volunteer.  While my children were attending Gilbert Paterson school I volunteered to make some benches for the school.  As a teenager in my home country of Eritrea my family helped single parent families in our farm communities.  We helped them tend and harvest their crops.

My favorite Rotary project so far has been to work with the construction team for Sunrise YPM House.  I have a great passion for those types of group projects.  It is wonderful to work hard, see the fruits of your labour and know it is going to help someone in need.  I enjoy the early morning Sunrise meeting.  It is a great time to meet and fits well with my workday.  I have made many new friends and am very proud to be a Rotarian.
