Our Breakfast Club volunteer team who serve breakfast sandwiches to Westminster Elementary School students on Rotary Wednesday, are a wonderful team. They meet at 8:15 am for about an hour once a month during the school year and spend an enjoyable time with students and teachers. Each volunteer's usual routine is as follows:
- Meet in the Westminster kitchen area
- Prepare a bin of food and beverages for an assigned classroom
- Deliver the bin to the classroom; meet the teacher and students
- Serve breakfast
- Read a story (assigned by the teacher) to the group of students
- Return the bin to the kitchen
Not all volunteers are available each month so I send an email to each team member about a week ahead.
That way they can let me know if they are available.
