Back to Zoom Meeting
The Sunrise Board met this evening and it was unanimously decided that we return to Zoom only meetings while the COVID numbers are so high.  We will review the situation in early November.

A large percentage of our membership is fully vaccinated, however, fully vaxed people can still spread COVID.   The risk of spreading COVID is very high.  The Board felt that we should minimize that risk and return to Zoom meetings.

While this is a disappointment for all of us, we hope you all understand this decision.

It was suggested that those who wish to partake of a breakfast with a very small cohort following the Zoom meeting are certainly able to do so.

Starting this Thursday, September 9, we will be on Zoom at 7:00 AM

In Person and Hybrid Meetings
In Person and Hybrid Meetings

A number of Rotary clubs in our District have begun in-person and hybrid meetings. While this a very positive development it is critical that we move ahead with caution.

These have been up-dated and will come into effect Saturday Sept. 4th at 8.am.

Additionally, Rotary International has issued the following Policy:
  • The health and safety of all participants in Rotary programs, meetings, and events is of paramount importance.
  • All conveners and organizers of Rotary meetings and events shall fully comply with all health and safety rules in effect in that location.
  • No in-person Rotary meeting or event shall be mandatory for any participant who may feel uncomfortable attending because of the pandemic.
  • All conveners and organizers of Rotary meetings and events are strongly encouraged to consider all health concerns in deciding whether to hold in-person meetings.
  • All travelers must adhere to all risk mitigation protocols required or recommended by local authorities.
As we move forward we will keep you abreast of changes that will impact In-Person meetings. Please take care of your fellow members and follow the 4 way test.

Los Amigos Progress Report
Los Amigos Project Update

I want to reach out to give you information on the current state of our project. It will come as no surprise to anyone, due to travel restrictions, we will not be sending our units before the end of 2021. The Admin Team has met and we have begun to make preparations to leave Lethbridge for Mazatlan on Sunday, February 20, 2022. We will be returning home on Saturday, March 5th. All planning and travel arrangements will be re examined on or before December 20, 2021 and may be cancelled at that time.
There have been some changes to previous trips that are motivated to protect the safety of our drivers.  We will require 14 drivers and two administrators for this trip.
1.       All participants must be fully vaccinated for Covid 19, and be prepared to wear N95 masks in public areas that exhibit high chances for
          transmission of the virus.
2.       We will be unable to accommodate Ambassadors for this trip.
3.       All drivers must possess out of country travel insurance that provides coverage for Covid 19 infections, including the cost of quarantine or return
          transportation if necessary.
Driver applications will be available in the next few days. As before, drivers must be Rotarians, members of Clubs that have contributed to funding of Los Amigos or have provided vehicles.
We have found that our budget, prepared over two years ago, may have to be adjusted to account for realities in fuel costs, travel and accommodations from then to now. We will keep you advised as plans take shape.
Thank you for your interest and commitment to our Los Amigos Project.
